It seems like there is no rule when it comes to Huskies and water: some like it, some don’t; I guess it all depends on the individual dog. Rocco got introduced to water by a couple of Labrador Retrievers who were joyfully jumping into a lake chasing a ball. His curiosity got the best of him, and before he new it, he was in up to his shoulders. I guess he liked the experience so much that now he is not too impressed with a park unless it has water access.
One of his favourite parks is MacDonald Beach It is such a great place for dogs to burn off energy while staying cool. Once off leash he will speed down the long beach to the very end and jump into the river. Then he strolls back saying hi to every dog he meets.
Fun times at the water. You should bring him to hawaii I think he’ll have a blast!
Knowing my luck, Rocco will get to go to Hawaii before I do … *sigh*
